Im looking to install some aftermarket Aluminum Slot Wheels on my 72 but unsure of the backspacing requirements so that i get the correct fitment.
I'll be using 15x8 size. I know the backspacing has to be correct to clear the caliper and I'd rather not have to use spacers
Appreciate any assistance

Factory backspacing on the 15x8 wheels is 3.5”. You should have no issues with up to a 4” backspace, assuming you stay with a standard size tire.
The issue with too much backspace is that your tire could contact the parking brake bracket that is welded to the trailing arm. Moving the bracket is a fairly common modification.
