Correct, Mooser. It is called the forward console trim pad extension. It is used on convertibles with A/C. It conceals one of the convertible with A/C-only cross braces located behind the passenger side lower trim panel.

Only reason I knew about them is I was looking to add one to my non-ac / coupe to hide some wires I had showing there but eventually moved some things around it they disappeared.
But if I find one at a fleamarket someday I'll grab it JIC.
