My original 1977 (Left) Delco-Remy 1102474 61 AMP has a casting code AQ.
I was given another 1102474 that is dated 3 months earlier than my original and has casting code BA.
Do these letters represent anything special or just a casting plant code?
I believe Willcox has a table that gives the correct alternator model code for each Corvette year. The manufacturing date codes were found using Google.
Interesting I had never paid attention to those, only the broadcast code, or the alternator assembly code...this is typically what sources track as they are configured specifically for a given vehicle electrical use load (A/C...no A/C, power equipment, etc.). I would agree with your assessment a plant casting code that could be a date code, plant code or assembly line.
Thanks to all that responded!
I would like to track down the back half of the casing with a AQ or BA code as the one given to me is cracked...
Other then the crack it is a real good clean core for a 1977 with A/C built after March 8th of 77.
