Barn find 72 Coupe sitting for the last 14 years, has rally wheels I had to use a set of my 82 wheels to load it, but I like them may keep them on it. Looking forward to working on it. Paint is not bad just a lot of dust and dirt on it.
Great find FASTAZU!! Keep us posted with lots of pics.
Acorn shells on the floor are never a good sign.
What cars are under the car covers next to your '72?
Hope the critters did not do much, I put a battery in and it turns over and all the electrical worked with no sparks LOL
The other cars That belong to Don under cover in the pic are red 93 79 L82 & a 75 the other 2 C3s have been sitting for a while also.
My personal Corvettes are 91 ZR-1, 89 coupe, 73 coupe another barn car yet to start on needs complete restoration, 82, and now the 72.
Nice, pretty complete!
Get it safe, roadworthy leave the paint alone and put a ton of miles on it!
Yes its completely original as far as I can tell nothing missing. frame good, only thing I found were both ears on the rear housing cover/spring mount were broken (seen this many times) and of coarse needs all the brakes done.
base 350/auto
AC, PS, PB, PW.
Definitely drop the cluster, pull the console, and pull the gauges. Not sure how the AC system is setup on these and if pulling the blower motor gets you into the main cavity of the heater box but I’d pull that too. If it’s been sitting you can be almost absolutely certain there are critters in there. Your one pic shows what looks like acorn shells on the floor. Basically make sure you have no surprises.

Yes plan on gutting it just to clean and than find out what needs to be replaced. I'm ready for it this will make the 7th 68-82 Ive done, with 3 complete restores.
May be a few pics of some of them here in my Albums
I enjoy reading about barn finds, but am always amazed at how someone can just let a classic or muscle car sit for years on end. I don’t begrudge anyone having a collection of cars but letting a car rot seems to be a different deal to me.

THats too bad, I was eye balling that camper in the upper corner.....LOL
Im always jealous of you guys that have the land for pole barns and stacks of cars under them or a big ol barn to hide cars in....my single vette lives in a garage that is barely big enough to work on the car. Not that Im complaining, its the first garage I have ever had and I heated it so Im very happy to have it. But My truck and daily driver get to sit in the dirt and rust every day.
I weent back and looked more closely...you guys have about 20 cars out there? Now Im really jealous
LOL come get the camper... More than enough to keep us busy the rest of our time on earth. Most will at some point be done and sold to fuel the addiction.
The 72 was just to good to pass on, I've been wanting another 68-72 for a long time. My 1st Corvette was a 68 back in the late 70s fresh out of the Navy, never got over losing it in 89 to an accident with a deer. I'm lucky I have a basement that holds up to 4 with room to work on my cars in.

My wife's uncle has one of the first Mustangs...it's parked on the south 40 with two 15"" diameter oak trees pinning it in place.
