You should be able to glue it back in place. I would recommend panel bond adhesive.

There is hardly any substrate left, I would glass mat and resin it.

I used fiberglass & resin on all the trouble spots.

I'm reskinning mine- used a brush with some fiberglass resin- soaked right into the fiberboard not only made is a lot stronger- it also made it a lot more weather resistant.

The problem areas added some mat.

They can take a beating so whatever you do make sure it's spread out more than just the clip. I'd probably clean the area up really well, find some metal that's about the same thickness as the bend in the clip is (what the door panel thickness was) and cut it into strips about 1" wider than the clip on each side. and then use a dremel or something and grind a recess in the back of the door so them metal will sit down flush. Drill a few 3/16" or so holes in each end of the metal strip outside of the clip area and them epoxy or resin it all onto the door (with clip in place) and let the stuff ooze out the holes to really lock it in the best if car

and fit the panel up and see if maybe making the mount tab a bit shorter would make the panel sit in place better. i also think you could get away with adding a couple more tabs underneath and screwing them to the door.

These are cool- Magdaddy.

Magnetic plates to put on the back of the panel- can glue/fiberglass or screw them into the panel.
Unbelievable how strong they are!!
