I was trying to change my original headers for after market ones and I see the original headers have some "Air Injection hard lines" attach, Can I remove them ? or they have to be there?
If you need to smog test your Corvette you need those air lines.
I have an 81 same thing they i believe were called heat risers. i removed all that junk from mine and installed hooker headers. but my car prior to me buying it had the computer removed
I've never seen an 80 with a smog pump! You'll have to remove that, too, so make sure your local emissions laws allow that.
The AIR tubes can be plugged, or removed if you are converting to headers. The heat riser is only on the passenger side, and that will go away, too, with headers.
Be careful with the smog stuff. You can sell all of it, if you don't need to keep it.
I know this is a little off topic, but what headers are you going to use? Is there a header back exhaust kit available anywhere? I've seen the CC short header set, but I would prefer long tube headers if possible.
I have a feeling some of the 80's had parts found on 81's. I am noticing the same with my car. I had those tubes as well. No testing for me so I cut them off and welded the holes.

it depends on if you use the stock cross member or go with a aftermarket like G Force that has the double humps for dual exhaust like I did when I added a 700R4 transmission on my 80 L82, with aftermarket cross member you just order a kit for 1974 , with stock cross member you can order true dual exhaust but it's still routed like the original Y Pipe system . I used Hedman with ball fitting collector
