I neglected to start my 68 convert every couple weeks over the winter months. Today I turned the key and got only about 5 of 8 cylinders firing on the NOM 454 motor. So tomorrow I get to find out if I have a couple bad plugs or some other pesky problem.
Properly preped for storage you wouldn't want to start it every so often as all that does is introduce moisture into the engine.
Was it Properly preped for storage?
Running on 5? Not sure how you know this for certain. But starting with some fresh plugs sounds like a good place to start.
why do you need to start it up every couple of weeks? unless you're going for a ride leave the car sit and don't try. you're doing more harm than good.
I agree that running an engine and not getting it hot enough or long enough is worse than not running.
It is curious that the engine misfires unless you had previously started it and it never got warm enough to run clean.
I would bet two things. one he flooded the engine with gas and the plugs was fouled, and two the valve seals are leaking causing the plugs to be oil fouled
