I have a 1974 corvette convvertible with a brown out side and tan inter with dark green carpet and dark green dash how rare is it to have this color in this car thanks
Yeah...the only interior combos came in 1976 and 1977 with RPO ZJ1. The buyer selected the primary trim color and when ZJ1 was ordered he/she got white seats and door panels in 76. In 77 got the same but with the headliner. I've submitted a rather comprehensive to the Corvette Restorer on RPO ZJ1 but the editor is backlogged so maybe a year or two. But, the point is...no late-model C3s came with two-tone interiors except in 76-77 and those had specified codes that could confirm a factory build.
your trim code is gonna say medium saddle paint and neutral interior. neutral had green dash and door pulls and i think green rugs. the rest was closer to oyster than white. sounds like this one was halfway changed over to medium saddle interior. like my 75 vert.

For 1974, Dark Brown paint code 68L was offerred. Someone above mentioned it was Medium Saddle. Medium Saddle is a 1975 only color, code 76L
For 1974 and 1975, Neutral was offered as an interior color. It consisted of a very light tan trim -- almost ivory colored (vinyl seats, door panels, dash, seat belts, etc) except for a dark green (looks like avacado green) upper dash pad and dark brown/green carpets. Neutral was not offered in the optional Custom Trim (leather) like other interior trim colors such as black, saddle and silver. Neutral has a trim code of 408 for 1974 and 60V for 1975.
For 1974, Dark Brown 68L and Neutral 408 was a recommended color combination, so nothing unusual here. Was Neutral popular? Probably not. I have seen it only a few times in my 46+ years of Corvette ownership. Below are pics of 2 cars with Neutral interiors: 1974 Neutral 408
1975 Neutral 60V

hunt4,
Thanks for posting that info.. I've been around Vets for a loooooong time, and had never heard of, or seen a car with option ZJ1. I really like the look.
I think your Restorer article should get a little priority as I'll bet a lot of other folks don't know of that option. IMHO. If I were creating an NCRS "Concours" car, I would do the interior as a ZJ1.
Thanks
