1980 Corvette issue with seat. I am not that comfortable with the seat reclined back so far and understand their are parts that can adjust the incline/decline of the seat? Anyone have experience?

Is it a power seat? (sorry I forgot if all seats were power in '80)

First things first, does it seem to 'rock' front-to-back as in a slightly worn track? And/or does the back section feel 'loose' when you wiggle it? (i.e. worn seat bushing).

They are not electric. They are not loose, its just that the normal position for the seat is to reclined for me.

There are only two positions, folded in half and fully upright. The only position that can be changed is how close you want to sit in relation to the steering wheel and pedals.
Perhaps there is a hack or mod for what you want to achieve?

There is a seat back adjustment shim kit for 68-75 C3s, but nothing for an '80. Some folks improvise with towels or a cushion.

if the floor isn't cracked where the seat is bolted then you can shim the rearward track up so the seat leans forward.

is it that or the stop point broken or bent allowing the seat back to recline farther than originally?

I don't think there is an adjustment, but take a look at the hinges.

Photo is from an original seat from my 80. When "upright", the two bits of the hinge in the circle touch. Your hinges may be bent and not connecting. Or you may be able to add a shim to keep you a bit more upright.

Loosten the seat bolts and slide in some slotted fender shims under the 2 rear feet. Test and adjust as needed.

Auveco is the manufacturer. You can use these for many different things.

I was noticing on my '71 coupe that the seat was too reclined & I wasn't looking thru the center of the windshield (I'm 5'10") also, the seat foam was dried out & in need of replacment. My wife was complaining that she was just seeing over the dashboard (she's 5'2"). My fix was to fab up some 1 1/2" spacers with longer bolts to place under the rear mounts. Worked perfect as we now are looking thru the center of the windshield.

For my ‘71 coupe, I just threw in some soft bulky padding behind the seat back and the short “wall” before battery compartment. Firm enough to increase my upright seating posture. I sit a little higher and am 6’3” but don’t use the T-top roof panels. Maybe a poor accommodation but it works for me. This car is hard enough to get in and out of as it is. Once in this helps.
