Default Step Dad’s 75

Hello new guy here! My name is Mike Tubiak and I am on here in search of the 75 Corvette my step dad sold back in like the mid 80’s. He found the VIN. So if anybody has any clue on how I can hunt this car down let me know. The person he sold it too has long since passed. No clue what happened to the car after that. Or he might have sold it before he passed. No clue. My step dad lives in Seymour, CT. I’m going the car is still in CT. My sister and I use to have to lay in the back compartment anytime we were going out in the car. So it has special memories to me. It would be cool to find it and show my step dad that it is still around. My parents think it’s long gone. So if anybody has any info please let me know. Thank you.

VIN - 1Z37J5S421169

it was candy apple red. My avatar is basically what it looked like.

Welcome to the Forum, Mike !
How great that you are trying to help your step father track down his old ‘75. I believe the different states have different policies regarding whatever information, if any, they will release to an individual who is not the registered owner. Having said that, my initial impression would be to post this request in the Regional Discussion area for the state you are in at: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-discussion-9/
You may also want to check the VIN in CARFAX; this may help you identify where the vehicle is located, although there will not be any contact information there.
Best wishes with your search!

Welcome. It will be a tough hunt. I don't believe CT DMV shares any info or customer service for that matter.

Try a title search through the DMV in the state where your father sold the car. The DMV may be limited in what type of information they can give you due to confidentiality laws, but may let you know whether your car is still around.
