New here and new to corvettes, I’m working on my wife’s corvette that she bought about 8 years ago. While going through the car and getting it nice for her to drive I noticed a lot of silicone behind the passenger door, started removing the silicone and underneath I found the nose clip seam where it bonds to the fiberglass underneath. Is if common to find a gap between the fiberglass pieces and should it be covered with silicone or should they be filled with the fiberglass filler? It seems like the pieces are still bonded well except right where the door meets. Not a great picture, will try to get a better one.
I think I know what i’m looking at. From what ive read that is a common ‘ugly’ area of these cars. I dont have silicone going up to the fender on mine. Not really sure how i’d attack it to make it look better.
my 75 is detached there. up both sides and across the top strip. my nose was hit and then sat for a time detached from the rad support. makes it easy to adjust my fender gaps though. just jack up the front and the gaps close...
