Hello, wanna upgrade my cornering (and eventually all) lights on my 1982 to LED's. I've already upgraded my gauge cluster and dash lights, it was simply a matter of buying the proper bulbs and plugging them in. My question is, do I need to add some relay or something with the LED on the cornering light, or can I just replace the bulb?

I have a 77. it doesn't have cornering lights. Didn't really know any C3 did.
Just a question for your question.
What makes you think changing from incandescent bulbs to light emitting diodes is an upgrade?
I work on Harley's 6 days a week.
The failure rate of LED's is far and away higher than good old fashioned incandescent bulbs. And at 30 - 40 times the price.
Just wondering why anyone does this.
And yes I install LED's All the time. And yes I see them fail
Oh, it's an improvement. In a 40 y.o. car with few safety features, and a bunch of idiots watching their phones and not the road, I want to be seen. 80-82 C3s have cornering lights, but they just work with LEDs. It is the marker lights (which blink) that need a "Blinker Genie". These are technology borrowed from Harleys, appropriately enough.
Incandescent on the left (Passenger side) LED on the right (US Driver-side).
Drivers side is always left side. Always. Chevrolet never built a right hand drive C3. Although, there are a few converted ones over here. (Read, destroyed).
Right and left sides of a vehicle are always determined by sitting in or on Drivers seat. No exceptions.
Thank you @Bikespace . Im a little confused by your post though. I understand why the blinkers need the flasher module thing, but ur post says "Fortunately, the cornering lights do not interfere". So for just doing the cornering lights, I'll be fine with simply replacing the bulb?

Not sure why the LED's fail in your experience, maybe its an amp draw problem? I like how bright they are, they are absolutely gorgeous in my dash. I wanna try it out on the outside even if theres a chance of failure.

The cornering lights are on an independent circuit, and current only flows in one direction. In my 80, I could have upgraded these to LEDs without doing anything else. I didn't look at the wiring diagram for your 82, but it should be the same. So, yes, you should be able to upgrade to (white) LEDs for the cornering lights by simply replacing the bulbs.

thanks. I’ll verify with the wiring diagrams myself

You don't happen to have before and after of your dash lights do you/ Also what brand did you use? I considered this very thing after seeing the led section at the parts store yesterday, Sylvania I believe.

I dont have a full before picture, just the front dash. Here it is. This is how I got the car. Granted, some bulbs were probably dead, but regardless it was pretty dim. Also I didn't feel like yellow matched the silver green coloring of the car.
Here is a full after picture though. The color I bought was light blue, They are all the same bulb so I dont know why the instrument cluster is darker. I dont mind it though, In fact I think it actually looks better being darker. I was debating this color or green, but I think I like this better.
They're even visible in partial light, something that the incandescents definitely couldn't do.
Heres an amazon link to the bulbs. Several colors here so if you don't like mine you could probably get one more color correct to the original.
