Dang, since when did non-running base 1975 coupes start selling for $5,000? I would expect a 1975 for $5K to run at least. Guess I am selling my cars too cheap

and the front bumper cover is losing it's mojo. and that engine compartment is a 3 or 4. not pristine. tell him 4. looks like it needs less than most 5k C3s, though...

Being that it's a 47 year old used Chevy value is what a seller will take and what a buyer will pay. I would say north of $3.5K and for sure south of $10K based on the pictures, I bet a buyer and seller could find a sweet spot between those two numbers.

I see that car being a nice driver with some cleanup and fluid changes.

‘Pristine’ - a powerfully interesting word…

‘Patina’ - another powerful word

the engine bay just needs cleaning to reveal originality. It should display a nice Patina when done. More time investment than $’s.

the interior just might be pristine after all

exterior paint… clay bar, then judge

a garage kept original is a + as well.

1975 Coupe
Silver on Silver
4 speed manual
T-Tops
Low-Mileage
pristine condition
has been parked in a home basement for 8 years
was started 3-4 years ago.

That’s all the info my friend currently has other than the Father was the second owner and has passed away, so the son has sent off to NC DMV for the title name change, 2 weeks ago.

The son needs money.

I’ve been granted first right of refusal.

I should be viewing the car within the next couple of weeks.

My friend knew the Owner and obviously knows the son. He also knows me well, knows I own a couple Vettes and have a C8 on pre-order. He also knows I will do a fair assessment of the car, and make a fair and reasonable offer.

Someone had offered $3500 for it and the son said No…. Again, Nobody else is in line for it after me, currently.

So, with all of this said, and assuming the car is indeed pristine with around 50k miles…..

what does CFOT say a fair offer would be?

(I know about it being all smogged up and only 165 HP)

TIA
pictures please !!

Looks like it has the later C3 rear bumper cover with the molded-in spoiler as well! Unless the frame and birdcage are toast, that car is easily worth $5k all day!!! It's funny to me how every rusted out F-body, Lemans, Nova, etc bring crazy money and the POS 250k mileage cars made today that'll still bring $5k or more....and an almost 50 year old Corvette that looks like that gets dogged on....my point is, I'd rather have that car for $5k, put $5k into it....and really have something! Hell, it'll cost you $3k when your wife says she wants a Peleton exercise bike!!! I feel just about every C3 and C4 is a buy(generally speaking)! And someday many are going to wish they had bought that certain C3 or C4 for $5-10k when they had the chance! Not ranting towards anyone in this thread, it's all about perspective, as Corvette people we should all be stoked we can get these cars for that kind of money! Also remembering that owning, driving and enjoying them is where the real value is at....it's a hobby, hobbies cost money and this particular car is a better way to spend $5k than many of life's alternatives....."Honey, I think we should remodel the bathroom"......there goes another vette!!!! Buy it👍

you are gonna be doing a front bumper so you can get headlight touched up when bumper gets painted. i am sometimes too fussy with 75's. maybe cuz i have one i had no damn business buying. it does look like a solid nice car. just less perfect than seller made it sound...

Thanks Guys, and I agree 100% with you.

My friend told me about it and is in contact with the owner.
look, my friend restores JukeBoxes for a living. He deals with junk and turns them into lighted up good sounding beauties… his word was pristine in telling me about it…so stop throwing rocks.

the current owner inherited the car from his Father. The title has been reissued.
he has no job, he has no money, his wife hauls people around via Uber….

I am remaining patient, waiting on my turn.
my friend bought an S-10 from him, has paid him in small increments while they waited for the title to come back.

The titles are back… The S-10 deal is done, the boy has been paid…. He will spend it on life’s needs…. Then it will be my turn

i am ready…
