Default 2 digit paint code


This is a early 1968 car, the paint code is only 2 digits has anyone seen this before?

...the letter C was the third month of production, so it's an early car, but not a super early car. I'm betting it was just a factory mistake as these cars were built by humans back in the day.

Paul - I guessed it was a error at the factory but I haven’t seen a trim tag error like this before.

983, 984, 986 & 988.

it is a 986 silver car the tank sticker was intact.

There have been a number of documented 63-67's with trim tag mistakes, so it's not something new, but I will say that's the first for a 68 up that I've ever seen or heard of.
