Default quick door key question - 1981

So I don't have door keys for my '81. Can someone tell me if the glove box or the hatch behind the passenger seat uses the same key as the door? My idea is to take whichever lock matches to a locksmith and have new keys made. I know they are super easy to break into but I really would like to have lockable doors Thanks in advance.

IIRC only the ignition used the square key from 74 (75?) and up, the round head key did everything else so your doors should match the rear compartment and the glove box

81 should have a "E" square key and an "H" round key

Yep.

Yeah, your plan should work. If someone changed the locks (doubtful) then you'd need to make another trip. You might want to call in advance and ask if they have GM branded keys. If they don't, verify it's ok if you bring in your own (buy what you need off ebay or somewhere). Because they'll probably 'cut' a key for you which is more precise than if you go to the hardware store later on and have a key copied. So if you can get a set of GM keys 'cut' that would be the best IMO. Or maybe you don't care if they are GM keys or not...
