Just rebuilt and upgraded motor and redid pump seal on transmission. Im not a transmission guy just tried diy’n it myself to save some cash. Put a 2800 stall on it and now i dont have 3rd or reverse. Kickdown cable not hooked up and was told it was setup so you can only manually shift it. I had to pull all the clutches and everything out to reassemble due to one of the plastic rings slipping out of place. Only thing i noticed is i had to loosen valve body to get the ring out and when i put it back in it wasnt as tight as before? Now finally got everything back in and i have first and second but no reverse or 3rd gear. Cant even really feel when i shift that they are there either. I picked back end up off the ground and where reverse should be sometimes would barley spin the tire forward. I kept cycling gears and topping off tranny fluid to make sure it was filled all the way. Just looking to see if anyone has any suggestions on what the problem could be so when i pull it back out i know where to look? I did have to take the valve body off but i dont think i lost any of the ball bearings in there. I kept it level and never tipped it over so they couldnt fall out.
The two scarf cut Teflon rings on the pump where the high clutch drum rides? Were they the problem? No oil pressure, no high.
There’s an HP book for 350TH. Need more detail of what you disassembled.

heres the video that i watched and did exactly what this guy did. I had to pull all the clutches and everything out to get it back in all the way. I was replacing front seals bc i had it out due to engine overhaul and figured while i had it out might as well do it and got bit by it
Hmmmm….That guy should be banned…..Only the converter hub seal, the one at the input shaft, should need to be changed. The lathe cut seal and pump gasket just don’t need changed except for a complete overhaul.
That’s behind you now and how can we get you out of your situation. You need to buy a book that explains and has pictures you can follow. There many points the guy didn’t explain to R&R the front pump successfully.
Without being able to test fluid pressures, you can only guess what’s wrong. My first thought is while pulling and replacing the pump you knocked off the sealing rings on the pump located on the internal end of the pump. Those rings seal fluid pressure to the high/reverse clutch drum. No pressure, no coupling, no R, no high. Got to go in the trans to see them or mechanically check them.
If you’re determined to fix it yourself, you need to arm yourself with more information. A book dedicated to 350 Turbo Hydromatics. The You Tube “fiddle-fornicators” are just going to lead you astray. We , Corvette Forum, can help you out. But you need to be more specific to home in on technical repairs like your trans….

Thanks, i just bought the book today and got a buddy thats good with trannys helping me. We got it all pulled apart and he said everything looks good. Small tear in valve body gasket tho and found out i put wrong fluid in it. Put the dex gm fluid in when it should have been atf+4 so gonna put it back together with a shift kit and hes got a pressure gauge so when its back in see what we got. Thanks for your help its much appreciated
You have a high (GM calls it Direct others call it Front clutch problem). It's the piston seals or the seals (cast iron on a TH350) on the back of the pump stator support.
