I'd certainly approach Kevin MacKay or Tim Thorpe if it was an L-88, but it's not.
For some expert advice/opinions on LS-6/ZR-2 information, I'd talk to Jim Wallace (frequents this board), Mike Ernst (frequents this board), Gary Bosselman (frequents this board, but not often), or Warren Friedrich (don't think Warren is involved with Corvettes any more). ANY of those four gentlemen can give you a very informed opinion about what you may or may not have. I'd certainly take their advice before Kevin or Tim (nothing against either person... Just not their forte).
The pad looks good in the photos and the VIN is in a good range as well, but the problem is that all of that is equally true for a regular LS-6 as well. What about the heavy duty brake equipment? The calipers often go missing, but the front reinforcements usually stay. Would be curiousto see what bellhousing/starter you have as well. A better shot of the top of the radiator would be helpful (original or repro) as would the radiator date if it's original. Photo of underside of the rear deck might be useful as well (antenna drilled in a different location than factory fill for antenna hole). Verifying some of these items might help support what you believe to be true.

Stan Falenski
Thanks Stan, we had been looking for Chuck Berge to come over - but the money is tied up with probate at the moment so very difficult. I had been chatting to Jim about including it in the survey, he mentioned about getting the docs verified by NCRS - but on speaking to them not sure that's an option. I hadn't heard of the other people, so that sounds a good option too.
The mechanic sent over a number of photos the other day, but i'm not a huge car person and wouldn't have a clue what I was looking for. I can always put them in a google drive folder for anyone interested in looking.
I know some of the fibreglass that had been repaired after my father-in-law hit a gas lamp in the 70's is starting to come away - so that needs fixing - but the rest just looks like gobbeldy-gook to me!
Here are a few stamps to compare. Stan I think you know the 13750 car, it had a really good restamp. Car 15836 has an original stamp verified by Al Grenning.
The red flag with restamps is the S in the VIN. The restamps have gotten better, but the S is still off in the "good" restamp above. Almost looks right, but no.
Little update on this. Yesterday the car went to a Corvette show, kindly paid for by Corvette Corvette Club UK so that their members could see the car before she leaves these shores.
As it currently stands the car will be travelling back to the states and will be due to go to auction in January as I believe the Scottsdale Auction in Arizona.

Well technically I paid for it as I haven't claimed my expenses yet
It was a great weekend of Corvette everything and having the ZR2 there made it extra special and members are still talking about it. Thanks to you, S***** J**** & P*** for helping make it happen and being so gracious answering many many questions. Good luck with the auction and please let us all know how things progress?
The tank sticker was the best I've ever seen having been removed from the tank in the early 80's
I'm not trying to be unkind here, but at this point, all there is on this car is hearsay. No documentation, no pictures of significant numbers on the engine pad, etc. Air cleaner sticker certainly doesn't qualify as any kind of documentation. We don't know the VIN, so we don't know whether it legitimately falls in the acceptable category for when LS6/ZR2 cars were made. It's potentially a really special car, but I have run across a number of "supposed" LS6's that were not, so I have to be skeptical about this one. I, for one, would love to see real evidence that this is what it is said to be! Thanks
Tried to rain on his parade, and it turns out to be the real deal.

You love to see it.
Hey it's not a problem - I understand that these beauties are pretty hard to authenticate and there aren't many left, so there have been quite a few false alarms. We were lucky that Tom Falconer had worked on ours as the first ever Corvette he worked on and we had the interview with Toly Arutonoff, so we were confident in what was there
