Installing new door panels on my 1980. Everything went well, but the bottom ends of panel toward rear stick out about 1". There are no screw holes or retainers on old or new. The lowest rear screws are on the arm rest. (I know that prior to '78 retaining clips were used in this area).Looking for ideas as how to best fasten to door in this location.

Reason: spelling
No there was not on the original panel. Also the corvette assembly manual page 290 does not show a screw on the rear part of the panel.
However, the Wilcox diagram you sent shows a screw on the rear. I will take the panel off again and see if I can find a screw hole. Maybe I have to drill one.
Thanks for info.
My research indicates that from 1978 forward the clip attachments were not used. Although there is a hole in the door, the door panel design must have changed so the clip would not work. A clip was not on the original door panels.
Thanks for the info. My 80 door panels do not have the metal tabs for push pins. Old door panels did not either. I thought they were similar to 78's but apparently not.
