IMO, I used to say sell on ebay, but not anymore. I am pretty much done with ebay now.

Ebay continues to raise its fees. Also last time I wanted to sell some front grills, ebay now wants my ss # and will send me & fed a 1099 for capital gains, so I need to come up with a basis otherwise, sales fully income taxed. Current admin, info for all that voted d, lowered the limit for this for ebay and every similar site from 20K to $600. So done with ebay. Also ebay got rid of paypal and do their own money thing now, ship thru ebay, ect.

Facebook market is good, but I do not do Facebook for a number of reasons.

So, only use Craigslist and Corvette Forum at the moment. All money exchanged is outside of Craigslist & CF, so no IRS involvement unless you choose it.

These other sites, BAT, Classiq (?) charge a seller fee and a buyer fee, so they are making a lot of money skimming off the top.

I also am interested in ways to sell. Ebay was a lot of fun when it started. Hell, I am at 1447 transactions 100% feedback so I was a big fan. I think they are killing the golden goose. Too bad.

BTW, Nice 1980 Corvette!!

20mercury,

GREAT info...... I too used to use eBay. Only occasionally do I buy on there, but haven't sold anything big in many years. I also don't do FB for many reasons, neither does my neighbor who owns the C3 I'm asking about. Since it's my neighbors car, I won't be the one posting it for sale on other type sites, although I may offer to help him and list it here as he's not a member and would have to have posted for a bit before he could even get Private messages or send them. I'll see what he wants to do.

Thank you !

Just a note on 'the disease'. C3 denial is one of the initial symptoms. It may take a couple of months, but ..................
