The goal for this week is to get the headlights working. I disassembled the headlight vacuum components for testing & cleaning. Unfortunately, three of the four bolts holding the relays onto the frame sheared off when I removed them. I’ll drill out the threaded holes after I get 4 new bolts. I probably never would have found the mud packed inside the relay by some industrious wasp if I hadn’t removed it from the car. I tested both relays applying suction to a piece of vacuum hose connected to where the longest vacuum line splits & connects to the two relay diaphragms from the manifold.

I dont follow how you tested the relays but in the pic you have a hose connected to the metal port of the top diaphram. You should see the plunger go up inside the holes where the mud was...it should stay up indefinitely.
You should also apply vacuum to the middle of the three tube where the mud was and it should swap from bottom to top as you apply vacuum to the metal port on the top....
Life changes & challenges are compelling me to sell this project at a “more than reasonable” price. I’ve gotten the car to the point where it’s about ready to paint, so you can still choose the color!
I’m not set up to do a good job of that and I have other opportunities that I need to pursue at the moment. If somebody’s looking for a screamin’deal on a classic Corvette, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better one.
I appreciate everybody’s help, encouragement & support throughout the project, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
It’s all good!🥸👍🏼
I’ve got the car listed on Facebook Marketplace for $7K if anybody’s interested…
It was interesting following your project and how you persevered through the multitude of challenges that came up. I hope your car goes to an owner who really appreciates it. Best of luck!

Thanks Brent, I sincerely appreciate your kind thoughts. She’s a beautiful machine, at the just right moment in the project to let someone younger finish at the level of craftsmanship she deserves. My lad’s flown the coop, got his hands full with horses & trucks 🥸👍🏼
