Looking to replace the exhaust bezels on my '72 and see that they are offered in chrome or stainless. What have y'all chosen? Is one better than the other?
I did stainless and I'm happy with them, fit, finish, etc but they are noticeably different than the chrome (shine wise) when they are side by side.
I went with the stainless as I can always re-buff it

Chrome and chrome. Original I think. I give them a light wipe-down after every drive, same for the rear bumpers. Exhaust spews on them which isn’t good. Not obsessive /compulsive if you’re enjoying a cold beer.
The original ones were chrome plated pot metal, that were (are) prone to pitting. As mentioned above, the stainless ones have a different finish and shine, then the original chrome ones. Chrome plated stainless repro's are now available, so that they have the original look, without the issue of pitting. These are the best choice if you want the original appearance, and prefer the look of chrome, in my opinion anyway.
