Were there 2 different mounting configurations in 1971 for the console shifter plate screws? Mine has 2 in the front corners and 2 next to the fiber optic indicators.
I looked at my own car and the screws are like yours; the NCRS judging guide says it is supposed to be as ours show. There is no mention of the screws being in the outer corners - maybe that's a '68-'69 thing. My replacement console has both screw locations available so would allow the 4-corner mounting.

huh.Odd in that if the lower pic'd is a factory setup - which it seems to be - there would be two different consoles needed to mount them and that's nothing I've noticed before. I wonder if the BAT car needed the console mounting tabs to be repaired and this is the result.
Thanks, so far every '71 photo I've looked at is like mine. In my opinion, the one's in the lower corners are from a '69. The '71 on BAT seems to have a lot of anomalies for having 11,000 miles. I don't like pointing out red flags, but we've experienced new owners asking questions on the forum after they purchase a C3 without having someone with knowledge performing an inspection.
Overall, the car looks great, but upon further inspection of the photos posted, some things don't look right. It has a carburetor from a 1971 Chevy 350 series 10 truck, the blue sticker on the drivers door looks suspicious, the transmission stamp doesn't look right, chrome valve covers, the air cleaner housing has the GM sticker on the passenger side, there's no 454 decal on the chrome air cleaner lid, the alternator connector is near the header due to incorrect clocking, and on top of that there's no paper trail/paperwork.
It's a beautiful Brands Hatch Green LS5 Coupe, but buyer beware. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...rvette-454-20/
Sorry, I edited my #2 response - probably while you were typing.
No problem, I do that all the time too. Maybe someday we'll see the new owner of the '71 on BAT post on the forum asking questions about his 11,000 mile '71 LS5 carburetor.
So from the 350 group; My low production number (572) has two screws in line with the fiber optics. And, yes, ‘Billie’s Restro fudged up the fiber optics before I bought it. IDK if the SS screws are correct either.
