Default 1982 CE Battery question

Is it ok to use a AGM battery? And what's the best battery for this? CCA etc...

Of course it's OK to use a Glass Mat battery. The more cranking amps the better. Wal-mart batteries work great!

Personally a AGM battery is great for everyday usage.
Keeping them fully charged at all times will insure a longer lifespan.
You can't use your Battery Hold Down with a Spiro shaped battery as there are now provisions molded into the battery for that.
My last Interstate MT7-75DT AGM lasted 10+ years but no longer available.
Looks like the 82 OEM CCA is rated between 650 and 700 and is Group Size Number 75...

A red top Ultima works just fine if you want to use that. My last red top lasted 7 years and I live in AZ and as hot as the sun here, you should have similar results I would assume in FL.

Just got the car and looking at the battery it fairly new (1 year). I'm new to C3's. The reason I asked is occasionally when I crank the car it has one or two slow turnovers the cranks fast and starts. Is that a common thing?

Does this happen only when the car is Hot? More information needed.
Battery can be load tested at most larger auto parts stores.
Starter could be old, or heat soaking.
Starter heat shields in place? Stock exhaust?

Hot or cold, don't know. I'll start paying attention to that.
Heat shield, don't know. I'll check tomorrow.
Stock exhaust, no. My mechanic said they are cherry bombs. Stock is going back on next week.
