Bracket in rear storage area - 1968

Default Bracket in rear storage area - 1968
Seems like a dumb question, but can someone please let me know what this bracket is for? There is one on each side in the rear of my 1968 convertible.

There for the rear window storage tray on coupes. obviously, yours being a convertible they were not used.

The rear quarter trim that covers the convertible top hinges attach there.
