I have had my 82CE for two and half years and have been working the upper half of the engine back into shape.
Just completed a 150 mile trip on the interstate cruising between 65 and 73 mph. Got 21 mpg and the car was cruising easily.
The cruising was good except 3:30 in New Orleans traffic. Once it cleared it was great.
Thanks to Bucaneer, Tom400CFI, and many others for the coaching. I’m sure problems will come, but for now I’m going to enjoy the ride.
The CrossFire system ('82 and '84) were nice system that provided trouble-free starts, good idle, and much better fuel mileage. They were not "powerful" systems....nothing in the 1980's was 'powerful'. But they were very functional and enjoyable.
