Toying with a stock rally, but going to 8" instead of 7", just not sure I'll be able to clear e-brake. Likely run BFG 235-60-15 in back with 235-70-15 in front unless a better suggestion comes along.
GM went to 8" rims (from 7" in 68) in '69, and going with 8" width grants you some more tire options. Personally, I think the 255-60-15s all around look the best, and those fit much better on a 8" rim. Nice, wide, and beefy whilst keeping the wheel wells filled out. - and no rubbing.
I'd love to run 275/60/15s, but they are a tad too big and they do rub. Thank goodness for SUVs that still run 15" rims, or we'd have even more slim pickins' than we already do in 15" diameter.

Ive got 255/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear but Ive have VBP suspension all the way around so I can raise the front as well as the rear to make them fit....the wheels have a shallow backspace so they do stick out a tad but it is more of a 60s and 70s look that way
We had my 68 white/red coupe painted the newest Corvette white and it is beautiful. They did not have the technology to make truly bright white paint back then. Corvette classic white was whiter than most cars but looks like cream compared to todays outstanding white paint.
And be very careful if you have to remove the center metal gauge bezel. It is made to break. Always remove the passenger side dash pad first. Lou.
First post. If you paint and redo interior. Don’t. You like it and it looks good. She is a spoiled little bitch. They all are. They don’t appreciate what we spent on them last month. Get the wheels you want. And wait for her to tell you what she wants you to buy for her next.
