Does anyone know if there is a way to make a new factory style power antenna work with an aftermarket radio without hacking up the harnesses? Mine is an 80
I thought about installing a power antenna on my 73, but decided it was easier to remove the one piece antenna when using the car cover. I saw a PAC TR 4 relay that may work if you come off the speaker wires. To make sure this will work contact the manufacturer, you don’t want to blow up your radio.
Yes it was. I had an aftermarket power antenna but the nut assembly bothered me. So I bought a new one from one of the corvette vendor's to get the correct look. They say it won’t work with aftermarket radios but I know there is probably a way and if there isn’t that will be fine because I stream music anyway. Just thought it would be nice to have it work anyway
Generally aftermarket radios have a blue output wire for the power antenna, amp that becomes hot whenever the radio is turned on. There's two yellow wires going to the OEM radio. One is radio power and the other goes to the power antenna relay. Just connect the blue output wire to the yellow power antenna wire. Be sure that your new power antenna is connected to power antenna relay wires.
