if the oem ones are the same size as Dynomax i am keeping them. Corvette Central claims made like OEM L82 and USA made and welded like OEM

I can measure both of these to give you an idea. The '80 L-82 mufflers with cat were very quiet. The Dynommax Super Turbos (with no cat) are a bit louder but not objectionable. Stock '80 L-82 compared to Dynomax Super Turbos in the picture. If I wanted quiet without a cat I would look at stock '74 flat mufflers.
The '80 L-82 mufflers are #14011289 (and probably -90 for the other one). 15"lg x 9.5"w x 5.5" tall.
Careful installation is probably more important than the muffler dimensions if you want them to hook up and tight.
The muffler is 15” long 10” wide 5-1/2” thick the inlet is 2-1/2” outlet is 2-1/4” VERY close to yours.. only 1/2 inch difference width..
i will measure my dynomax
summit great thought first i seen specs of case! thanks! they appear to say i'm not gaining anything with OEM size..and Dynomax damn close.
i can confirm my Dynomax 14x4.5x10.
i agree many adjustments to get it right.. sure seems damn tight no matter how you slice it ..
Dynomax remains

i loosened and beat around the muffler and flattened out the tilt. It appears factory tilt and exit of tail pipe is just off of a 90 degree angle for a slight tilt.
i think i got close enough and happy with gaps..it is quite the optical illusion.
i will weld tail pipes better when i need to remove the exhaust again and mig them.
a few pics of an original internet car and trying to duplicate.
thanks again for pics and measurements.
