Default 79 l82 oem muffler dimensions

Can anyone provide body dimensions of factory HP L82 79 mufflers?
looking at the ones below and wondering if same size and assume internals made same.
GM Item No. 473035 473036
Part # 323378 Search Description MUFFLERS CORVETTE CENTRAL EXHAUST

I neglected to measure my original mufflers..
thanks

As much help as you've been on my 79, I wish I could lend some insight here, but my original mufflers are long gone. Hopefully someone else can help out. Good luck!

I have an '80 original exhaust here. I can measure it.
Why measure?

thank you.. i have dynomax super turbo mufflers (3.5 years 15000 miles ) now and i am considering OEM style L82 from CC.. I am hoping the OEM ones are smaller than the super turbos.. as i want a better fit flat and not an angle as well. Many pics i see show the mufflers flat..
i do not know if 80 is same as L82 but maybe? i know the L82 had different mufflers in 79 from non L82 and were louder than base..
this is the part # on the case L/R
GM Item No. 473035 473036

if the oem ones are the same size as Dynomax i am keeping them. Corvette Central claims made like OEM L82 and USA made and welded like OEM

I can measure both of these to give you an idea. The '80 L-82 mufflers with cat were very quiet. The Dynommax Super Turbos (with no cat) are a bit louder but not objectionable. Stock '80 L-82 compared to Dynomax Super Turbos in the picture. If I wanted quiet without a cat I would look at stock '74 flat mufflers.

The Dynomax are #17757 and Summit lists pretty close to what I measured. I got 14"lg x 10"w x 4.5" high.

The '80 L-82 mufflers are #14011289 (and probably -90 for the other one). 15"lg x 9.5"w x 5.5" tall.

Careful installation is probably more important than the muffler dimensions if you want them to hook up and tight.

thanks! FYI from CC L82 new
The muffler is 15” long 10” wide 5-1/2” thick the inlet is 2-1/2” outlet is 2-1/4” VERY close to yours.. only 1/2 inch difference width..
i will measure my dynomax
summit great thought first i seen specs of case! thanks! they appear to say i'm not gaining anything with OEM size..and Dynomax damn close.
i can confirm my Dynomax 14x4.5x10.
i agree many adjustments to get it right.. sure seems damn tight no matter how you slice it ..
Dynomax remains

They were not welded at the time of the photo so tilt is still angle was not yet set. I tack welded them on car after the photo and added a welded crossover near the front where the pipes were close together. Nice setup.

You know the 78 L82s are same with same part number as the 79s...and we have a vendor here who is hawking what appears to be the same mufflers as CC.

The way your muffler touches the bottom of your rear fender It seems you could trim the end of the Y-pipe to move the muffler closer to the spare tire carrier. I remember "adjusting" my system a bit before I hit it with the MIG. You might be able to just use what you have?

You are correct..
i loosened and beat around the muffler and flattened out the tilt. It appears factory tilt and exit of tail pipe is just off of a 90 degree angle for a slight tilt.
i think i got close enough and happy with gaps..it is quite the optical illusion.
i will weld tail pipes better when i need to remove the exhaust again and mig them.
a few pics of an original internet car and trying to duplicate.
thanks again for pics and measurements.
