Your suggestion of $45k is a fair starting price for this car.

$45K is a good and fair start. Its in excellent shape underneath and the only thing I can see that would be an issue for any whiners it the possible power steering leak. Big block CONVERTIBLE cars are big bucks and if it has tthe original motor its even better. A good detailing would make it shine inside and out. Im not a fan of the paint scheme but someone will be and they will have to pay to get this one!!!

good correct color paint, no rust, original drive train would put this car at 60,
those wrapped headers and horsepower claims are characteristics of a car that has been driven hard and probably has lots of stress in it life. deduct accordingly.
wrong color, rusty, replacement engines that have been raced need to be deducted accordingly and possible all the way down to project car status.
there is a quicky sale price and then there is a sit back and wait to find that buyer price while 50 others contact the seller.
depends on what the seller is willing to go thru to sell it. the flippers will be bugging her left and right with low ball offers.

Wanted to share a final wrap on this 71 Corvette sale. Rita chose to sell it as is. Asked $45K, sold last night for $37K. I think the guy got a bargain. He looked at the car with the Top Down, not sure if you have read about California Weather but we have had near constant Rain right now. The guy drove it home 50 miles Top Down last night with no trouble from the car. I know the gas was 4 years old, advised her to pump that out. Don’t think she did. At 600 HP the car was a beast but probably only got 8 MPG so it burned up the old gas quickly I am sure.
The guy buying was born in 1971 so this was his target year and he was really excited about this car. Thanks again for all the help trying to establish value.
