While I never would have bought or built one I always thought they were kind of cool similar to the old Volvo sport wagon. Who knows maybe these cars were influential to the designers of some of the more moder type sport wagons. Don’t forget that Chevrolet built the much sought after Iconic Nomad sport wagons as well.

I saw this nomad at the Portland Roadster Show. Funny story, when my grandfather was in college he had the opportunity to buy a nomad just like the one in the photo except blue and white, for 200 bucks no engine or trans. He didn’t end up getting it. This was back in the 60’s. He ended up buying a 69 Vette off the brochure. Ordered it in blue, showed up to his door green. Really nice cars.

Guy owns one about 15 miles from me. Used to be his mailman. Been sitting in his shop for probably 30 years. Asked about buying it once. Going to give it to his grandson one day, who is currently about 8.

When i had my flairs put on in 77 the body shop had an Eckler wagon and a hatchback being done. The wagon had the interior kit also.
