NOT that C.F.s are needed in C3s...but it couldn't be too hard () to put a slot in the airbox and slide an aftermarket filter in place...while upgrading the weak fan blower for more airflow.
With HVAC rebuild on my cars I found the most significant blockage of airflow to be the evaporator clogged with debris that had bypassed the ill-fitting plastic grate at the intake plenum. Compressed air thru the backside with vacuum on the front remedied the blockage. Wanting to keep it from happening again, as it’s a difficult access area, I wrapped the plenum grates with two layers of extra filter material. Activated carbon filter sheet cut to the size of the plastic grate and then a bit of fiber-filter wrapped around the edges and stuffed back in. 1/4” layer of carbon sheet under the white stuff.
fan worked much better by providing a better ground.
