Default Floor Plan Improvement Help

I’m going through the process of adding some sound/heat shielding on my 1978 and before I lay it in I wire brushed off a few areas of rust (nothing major, floorpans are very solid overall) and I’m curious what to recoat the floorpans with. I planned to do some rustoleum reform and seal rubber coating but the can says not to use on galvanized steel or in 200F plus temps. So I’m thinking POR-15 now and just curious what others think about that? Also thinking about truck bed liner on top of the POR-15 as the floor pans already seem to have something similar to that but I’m not sure, and if so can I paint over it with POR-15 and or the liner without issue? Then it’ll just be dynomat and a layer of reflectix based on what I’ve read before the carpet.

Sounds like a good plan. Cover everything with some type of soundproof-heat barrier-You'll be glad you took the extra time.

I would just spray paint it black (assume that is body color) after cleaning and go over that.
I wouldn’t build up anything behind gas pedal or clutch if equipped.

Might consider using a Scotchbrite type disc on a 4" grinder to get rid of all rust. After that, several choices. Nothing wrong with good quality paint over the bare metal parts, then pry out any bad/loose seam sealer. Lay in some new seam sealer then spray entire floor with undercoat, same as factory did.
I bought aluminum backed sound-heat barrier from an outfit in Canada called B-Quiet.

I got rid of all the rust tonight and the areas that have original undercoat leftover is solid so I didn’t bother scraping it up and just plan to coat over it. I did remove any bad/loose seam sealer, but is it a must to reapply seam sealer in some areas? I didn’t really take any parts fully off, just kinda knicked a few areas, but I don’t know maybe I went deep in some areas, I just thought the new coating would make it fine.

No, not a must. I had some bad some bad spots that needed it. Yours may be in better condition.
