I just bought my first C3 from a one owner estate. 78 silver anniversary with 33k original miles. Car runs great, but car gas electrical issues. Am no electrical genius.
problem: no horn, no wipers, no courtesy lights, no heater motor, no electric windows working, no dash board lights. Courtesy light fuse blows when ignition is turned on.
has anyone has this problem? Please don’t tell me I have a short, I know I do but where do I start? Previous owner put in an after market stereo and I plan to remove it .
I’m no electrical genius either, but I had a similar problem with an 80 I bought. Seems like it was all those same components. By studying, I determined that those are all on the same fuse. I disconnected them all, put in a new fuse, and reconnected each component one by one. Nothing blew the fuse until I reconnected the alarm system. One I disconnected the alarm again, all was fine. Hope that might help you.
Blower relay, horn relay and courtesy light fuse should have power all the time. If not probably has a bad fusible link on starter along with a short that caused it to go bad.
