Used 3M from years ago till now. Just used Gorilla Tape Clear Double sided, will never use 3M again. Bought 3M for my GMC truck door bumpers -two bumpers on each side of the truck- installed using clean foundations (wash 3 times, clear rinse, rubbing alcohol cleaned 3 times, let dry then 3 more alcohol cleanings) - 3 days later it started peeling...... Ambient humidity was not high.
Bought the Gorilla double sided tape and I believe it'll have to be chipped off. Its stuck like crazy.
Basically the same costs.
No brainer for me.

I use Gorilla tape to pull other stuff off of surfaces, before I move to the next step. Old labels, old tape, stuff like that. So yes, I share your enthusiasm for the product.
The difficulty I often have with any double sided product is getting the protective layer started. Gorilla tape can pull both ways to unpeel things.
