Default GM 3958710 Jack

I have what I believe is a 1969 jack? This was in my 67 when I bought it, I’m no expert, I think it’s a 69 era jack? I haven’t looked for a date code, not sure where it would be located at? Any ideas on a value, IF I decide to sell? I’ll have to look to see if I have the handle or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

there should be a number and a letter stamped on here , the letter will be for the month , and the number will be the year, if it is a 69 the number

will be a 9, hopefully you have the handle, im guessing it would be worth around $150

If that is a 69 jack I would guess North of $150.

So I found a “2 H” on the side where you said there should be a date code. And an “A” on the top as pictured. Didn’t see a handle for it.

So I’m guessing that’s not a 69, but maybe a 72 year?

"2H" would be August 1972 making it a jack out of a 73. A "2" sometimes indicates 82, but those jacks had a four digit date code stamped on top of the end block that the jack screw goes through, by the end bearing. Without the jack handle I'd say $150 sounds about right.

Thanks! I’m not sure I’ll sell it yet. If someone really wanted it for the date code for their car I’d consider it, but not going to post it for sale. I’ll probably pickup a handle out of a vette catalog in the mean time hoping I’ll never need to use it

Since this subject has attracted some interest, I thought I'd post my jack's configuration and see if anybody knows what I actually have. Once somebody helps me figure it out I will probably post it for sale.

I have a early January 69 car. The date code on the jack is 68 M but it is on the opposite side of the jack from Bills... photo. The top plate has an A. There is no attached label with the part #, that's all gone.

The top plate is 2-1/8" x 5-1/8" and the bottom is 9" x 5", both of which match the 69 dimensions, and that makes the 68 M a bit of a mystery. I have the handle.

I put a skinny jack in the jack compartment to save weight, and I am a long way from NCRS anything, so I don't really care to do much more than off load stuff I have to people that might better use it.

OK, the bad news, I broke the screw part while jacking from a bad starting position and I don't immediately see how to replace that. As things stand the jack can't be collapsed completely. Which until I can find a way to replace the screw, may make what I have pretty much useless without somebody who has the wherewithal to fix it or suggest how I can fix it. Other than wear and tear from actual use, it is not rusted out or anything like that.

Thanks for any help!
