Default 69 side mirror

My search-fu is not strong today.
I found that at approx 85+ mph the side mirror gets blown out of position. I an pretty sure I saw on here that there is a way to snug them up or lock them in place semi permanently.
I cant find it, so any help?

I have same problem, maybe 84+

I've used a drop or two of red loctite (not a permanent hold like you would think) it holds for a few months but then slowly goes back to loose.

I am sure there has to be a better method.

Rick

I just did my passenger side mirror. Make sure to use gasoline to soak the mirror for the glass removal. Follow the repair exactly so you won’t have to make the same repair in a year or two. I repaired mine, but the added small piece of metal was too flimsy, and after a year or so it started to bend, so the “ball” became loose, resulting in a floppy mirror.

Thanks all. Looks like a winter project, or until it moves often enough to **** me off. Took the wife for ice cream last night and kept it under 70 so all was well.
