Default Tie rod clamp nuts

Hi everyone

I'm reassembling the front relay & tie rod asm.
Is it acceptable/safe to use these stainless (nylon insert) lock nuts and bolts?
These have the correct dimensions.

The original bolts and nuts are warped and bend.

The tie rod bolts were grade 5.
A lot of the stainless hardware you find at the home depot type places are only grade 2
Grade 5 stainless (and 8) are available but not as common
Most nyloc nuts are only gr2

In the Harley world, (I am a professional Harley mechanic.) They ALWAYS state to replace nylock nuts EVERY time.
Yes just covering there asses. But. Yes. You really want safe?
put the CORRECT hardware in. Stainless bolts are NOT used for many very good reasons in OEM applications.
Many replace factory hardware with stainless thinking it's an upgrade.
It seldom is.

You should use prevailing torque nuts. That are mashed a little on one side.

Locally Ace Hardware has both grade 8 nylock and metal locking nuts. And grade 8 bolts of various sizes. As said above SS bolts can as we used to call them "mush" bolts strength wise. If you go stainless I would check with Fastenal to see what they can supply.
