Sounds like power steering fluid.
Could be the control valve, hoses, pump...

Hello, generally, no, they are NOT the same color, however, some people substitute ATF [which is reddish-pink] for power-steering fluid. That is possibly your situation Regard, LowSporty

Well, ya know. The first place I would look is directly above the puddle!
drivers side, front of engine.
Power steering.

If it's red, it's probably automatic transmission fluid. There is a cooling loop that goes through the radiator on the starboard side.

Or perhaps someone put ATF in the power steering system. I s'pose Jim Shea could tell by taste, but for the rest of us, photos would help.

The best solution to either problem is to replace with the manual equivalent, steering, transmission, or both.

A slight chance it's the front seal on the transmission then dripping towards the outboard side.
Slight chance it's the shift cable shaft seal.
Slight chance it's the "O" ring on the bullet for the speedometer cable and driven gear. The cable takes a slight dip before it rises to the firewall.
Good chance it's the trans pan gasket, left front corner.

At any rate, there is a dye you can introduce to the ATF or PS and a black-lite will verify the leaking source.
