I have a 69 350-350 coupe I am trying too find the build date? Door tag says P22. 736400 is the last 6 of the vin. When was this built? P is the 15th letter in the alphabet. So that would put this car into 70 production time? I’m confused! Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Troy

There was a strike during mid April thru June 1969 (about 6 weeks) so the production run for the 1969 model year ran to the end of December 1969 delaying the introduction of the 1970 Corvette as well as Camaro.
All correct. ‘69 started production 8/68 (month “A”) and went through 12/69.
For the exact completion date, you can send away for the NCRS shipping data report. It will also give you the dealer information where your car was first sold. The trim tag was affixed typically a couple of days before the final assembly.
BTW I have the 350/350 coupe (L46) and absolutely love it!

Hope he has better luck than me with the NCRS. Have a build date of November 6th, 1969. NCRS could not supply any information blaming it on record keeping during strike.
