The lower bracket- changing the length of the rod will not shorten the throw- total movement
The other issue you might run into is that motor does not reverse- it continues around in a complete circle-
requiring more clearance for it's movement.
I use a motor that goes 180º and then reverses-




This was one of the best original abominations to the vettes headlights- back in the day-





And looking at this- Ford GT- just not a fan of the small LED light bars-




If I was going to mess with it- I'd do something like this- "Jewel " headlights from Acura-

Here’s a video. It goes the full 360 when closing. But when opening it lands right where I wanted it. 👍
