Hey this is my first c3 and also first corvette I have ever owned just bought this 1978 c3 corvette and I’m so excited to get started working on it one owner car came with a bunch of paperwork original owners manual, warranty booklet, build sheet and so other documents any information on this car from more experienced vette owners I would love to hear because as I said I’m new to these and love learning all I can
Hi Mikey, welcome to the fun.
Do yourself a favor, purchase, (invest) in the following items.
Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM).
The service manual for your specific year. NOT the Haynes version. You want to get the GM specific for you year.
The vette vendor sites have both of them. I guess you could also try Ebay, Craigslist and FB.
Electrical drawing, you can get a set from papawana, https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...or-anyone.html
Last, utilize the search function. You will be amazed how many times someone has asked the same questions. It helps to save time.

I see a 4 speed in there, that's a great start! Welcome to the madness. :-)
Thanks and yes the 4 speed was a big selling point for me it is number matching engine and trans it has factory upgraded suspension according the build sheet which I’m not to sure about yet
Thanks I have the original manual that came with the car

Post your build sheet..never enough pics!
you have service manual? They didn’t cme originally from car.
try to get an original printing as the pics and print better
Welcome aboard. I have a 78 w/red like yours. Looks like they grew up in the same field! Lots of stuff to learn and this is the right place. And you know what they say...you ALWAYS will remember your FIRST!
Huge congratulations and welcome! The C3 Corvette is the dream car of my youth, and launched a lifelong love for all things Corvette! I’ve also always loved the silver ‘78/silver anniversary car. It’s great that you got a 1-owner car!
For sure post questions here. I concur with getting the shop manual and the assembly manual. You may also want to join the NCRS and your local chapter, as the members are very welcoming, and NCRS publishes a number of helpful publications. Although there’s a free .pdf copy of the assembly manual for my ‘69 online (which I downloaded), I also bought a printed copy of the AIM from NCRS, and paid far less for it than if I had my local UPS store print the download.
Just like anything in life, if you do things for the right reasons, its far more satisfying. Don't let anyone here, or anywhere, discourage you from working on, and making this Corvette everything you want it to be, based your own vision of that. Money and time are the costs of the effort, but if you are doing this for the love of the car, and what that brings back to you,.......you have succeeded. The "value" of the car is not based on what it can be sold for,.....its what it brings to you. Otherwise.....its a waste of time.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
