1982 Coolant Refill
I have spent the past few days flushing my radiator and cooling system. After a few flushes draining just the radiator, I decided to drain the engine block and radiator, and it got all 5 gallons out of the system. When I tried to refill the system, it only took 2.5 gallons (just the capacity of the radiator). How can I fill up the block too?

Sounds like you have air in the upper part of the block that's trapped by the thermostat. You could pull the thermostat housing and thermostat to release the air. You'll have to replace the gasket but it's a good time to replace the thermostat anyway. On the new thermostat, it's well-advised to drill a 1/8" (3mm) hole in the flange to release trapped air in the future.
