I have not used the remote style (have the one shown above which has been fine), but understand not wanting to have to reach around to connect/disconnect (I always forget to do it before getting in the car, so have to dislocate some joints and reach behind the seat.
Seems to have overall good reviews, so should be fine. I did notice something in the Q&A that I hadn't thought off, which was what happens if you use the remote to disconnect the battery while driving. While no one with sense would do this, could it accidentally happen? Very doubtful with the remote attached to the keys in the ignition, but if you kept it elsewhere in the car, the chances probably go up some based on how easy it is to hit the keys on the remote.
So yea, I have no real insight, but thought that question was interesting and while not likely, could create an issue.

I get this. If the disco switch is to protect from extended periods of disuse, install the manual lever, leave the drivers seat folded forward when done and you'll always have the visual cue to reconnect it before you sit down again!
The one with the green **** is garbage. It'll melt the first time you have a cranking problem, nor do I need any fancy remote. I use the knife blade switch in all my old cars. Very durable and zero parasitic losses. The radio loses it's presets, but I don't listen to the radio.
i mounted a twist lever style in between the seats. easy to get to, works great
Same here, Ron Francis brand, $42 from Summit.
I had a knife style on the battery, but same issue, got tired of twisting around to switch it. Also a major pain if I had the t-tops behind the seat.
I had it on the neg, but with the new one I put it on the pos and added the small fused wire that keeps the radio memory powered. Win-win all around.
Edit: I may go back and reinstall the knife in the neg so I can totally disco the battery if I need to, we’ll see.
I want to use it in a friends car. He has an Audi that dies every couple of days. We tried to find the draw with no luck. He even brought it to an Audi mechanic to have it checked. No luck. It doesn't happen all the time. When the car goes dead the trunk won't open and there is no key for it. And the battery is in the trunk. So this is the best option.
