I watched a video of a fellow who was replacing the windshield on his C3. While removing the T trim and upper reveal molding, he commented on how the trim clips were not fasted to the windshield header, no evidence of screws. Seemed strange. When he did some investigating he claimed there were some years where the clips fastened to the large T trim, assume upper reveal as well... He said he planned to attach the clips with screws while the glass is out.
Has anyone else seen this?
I'm having trouble getting my upper reveal tight against the T trim, wondering if the edge of the T trim be in the clip as it seems to be in this fellow's case. My clips (70) are fastened to the windshield header. Could be a problem with the T trim not seating far enough down over the header? Anybody have close up photos of the T trim installed, before the upper reveal was installed?
The 78 design makes more sense if you want to maintain a tight gap between the upper reveal and T trim panel.
I'll have to take a close look at my 70, see where the edge of the T Trim panel is relative to the clips.
The clips will determine where the upper reveal is located.
