Default 1978 Courtesy Light Timer Delay Board

Stumped, I read that the Courtesy Light Timer Delay Switch is located behind the bread box for 1978-1982's. However, there is not one located behind my bread box, I know it looks like a flat orange/brown case that holds circuit board. I did notice the exact orange case up above my Fuse Box near drivers' side Kick Plate. Super hard to get access to being way above fuse box. Could that be the Timer Light Delay case located in that area on my 1978 or is that something different?

Thanks for help.

If it is burned up like mine was I would recomend using only 3-5 watt floor board bulbs before you replace the circuit board. The factory peanut sockets will accept brighter bulbs but they can smoke your new board. Ask me how I know.

That's it! More importantly...is it functioning? Does it delay approximately 30 seconds?

Never seen it up there before...what's your VIN?

In 1978 there was an early and late version of the main wiring harness....the difference was, where the timer was....left side or right side of dash👍

I believe that also included the Timer Relay location for the Rear Defogger, early & late.

That sounds familiar, it's been awhile! My rear defogger relay was inside driver's kick panel area, mounted to hang on the backside of the sheet metal that the kick panel screwed to. I should have said "one difference being", but I know when ordering a new harness, light timer location is what differentiates the two👍

Traditional glove box area, the term "breadbox" usually is used to refer to the "crash cushion" on the 1984-1989 C4 corvette....it was intended to be short lived, as there was government talk of air-bag implementation even in '84....but the air-bag didn't happen until much later! Never heard the term used on anything but an early C4👍
