I'm looking at a c3 that a guy says is a 79. Looks like someone body filled the front bumper gap and I can't find this interior color combo anywhere on Google. Just interested if I'm looking at something special or just another car.
Nothing is special about a '79, except that Chevy made almost 60k of them. Looks like an '80 bumper cover was blended in, so it's probably a fiberglass replica. The spoiler probably came from JC Whitney, as did the interior. Cheap add-on faux wood grain, or maybe it is actually wood. Not stock in any case.
With all the rust under the hood you'd better check the birdcage and the body attachment points carefully.
Where is this car? New Orleans?
I think the spoiler is aftermarket. Can you find the vin number on the engine block or the driver's side pillar post? That will give some information you can use to identify the car. When you open the driver's door you'll see this metal plate and it contains interior and exterior paint codes etc. It's across from the door hinge.. Location of VIN number info on pillar post
Photographed wet? Paint (or clearcoat) is shot.
Interior needs everything.
Automatic? Not in America's sports car.
Rust is the real killer. This could be a parts car if flooded and left to rot.
Clear coat is peeling.
I don't mind it being auto.
I was never looking for a show car, just always wanted a c3 and this one runs good and has a decent sounding cam(don't know the specs).
I don't think it's as rusty as everyone seems to think. I've lived down here my whole life and seen dozens of fairly clean cars have surface rust and not be rotted out in any way.
