I would make my own, use a nut of the proper thread and grind it round.
If you want longer threads you could use a threaded rod coupler, used for threading all thread together to make pipe hangers, check Home Depot and the like.
I picked up some of these E-Z LOK knife threaded inserts. It might work for you for certain materials. It did not work on a soft-core baseball, but I'll 3D print an insert and try again with more epoxy.
3/8-18 is the thread for the Hurst shifter in my car. What uses 9/16-18?

Factory Muncie/BW Super T10 shifter. I think all manual Corvettes through the C5 used 9/16-18.
When I made mine (72 auto), I used a 19mm OD, 11mm ID piece of aluminum tube. Bought a drill / tap set in 5/8-18 (different than what you're needing). I don't remember why I went this route instead of buying threaded inserts, might have been cost of the inserts in that size versus cost of tools/materials that I could use for multiple things.
The aluminum wasn't too bad to tap by hand, easier than steel.
