I’m removing dash on my 1981,and think I have all the screws out and duct loose, but headlight ****,I’m assuming just pulls off,I know older cars did,or is their a small screws in it.
No, No, No, there is a small button like the size of a bb that needs to be pressed in, before removing the headlight ****. The bb size button will only be seen once the dash is removed. Look at some pictures on Google or vendor sites. I hope my response is not to late!
The button he is referring to is on the bottom of the headlight switch. Press the button and gently pull on the **** and you'll fell it pull through a couple of detents before it comes out.
I have the dash pulled out and ready to remove to table, but to things are still holding me up 1st the headlight **** is pulled out,a bunch of wires are connected to something a relay,or something,so don’t see the wires coming apart individually so how do I dissconnect it,2nd is the glove box door light,it’s only two wires so could be cut,so any answers,lol....the dash wasn’t bad until the end,and remembered someone said something about some clips, and sure enough my clips have to be pushed in and pull dash out,two of them, and came right out. Thanks
Well, already answered what the something is,the light switch but still doesn’t tell me how to remove it,so I can get the dash off,or does the black bezel part just pulls or perhaps just screws out.I will get some pictures tomorrow.
Once you pull the **** out (press the button in the back and pull the **** out, as the picture above shows the button to press sort of)
Look into where the button was and there is a collar with a flat slot across it. That unscrews and lets the switch come out. You need a wide blade screw driver for it
