I was swapping out the steering wheel on my ‘77, as the original is not in good shape leather and padding wise.
my dad happened to have an aftermarket one he used in his ‘75, so after watching a video to see what I needed tool wise, I decided to swap them.
It was a lot easier than other cars I’ve done it on, without the need for a puller.
The only problem I ran into was the horn button detached from the base retainer ring, which isn’t surprising given the age of the car.
my question is what adhesive do I need to get to reattach them together, or should I just order a new button? Horn button and retaining ring
There was no adhesive originally. The three rivets have come "unstaked" on yours at some point in the past. JB Weld at the rivets has worked for me in the past.

Thanks. I’ll get the adhesive cleaned off and try a dab of JBWeld on each rivet….
