Default Door rubber.

Good morning to all, I just replaced the door rubbers (seals) on my 82, I now have noticed that the door does not completely close as it did before.
Did I do something wrong in the install, all help appreciated, cheers.

If I've ever had this happen where the doors don't shut easily after weatherstrip replacement I would wet them down with water either wipe or spray then shut the doors hard till they shut and leave overnight, would help to collapse a bit.

You got good advice above. I put new rubber in and it is taking its time to form to the door.

Same with my deck lid weatherstrip. I had to lower it into place and place a towel with two 20# bags of topsoil on top of it for a week to compress the rubber....then use saran wrap laying in the groove on the body and press down above each lock mechanism until the locks clicked into the lock position.

Same deal with the doors and hood. Water/saran wrap/silicone lube for rubber are your friends.

A lot, most?? of the aftermarket weather stripping is not the same as the original stuff. My 15 yr old door and convertible top stripping was harder and didn't work correctly from day 1. Still doesn't.
The curse of aftermarket parts.
